Privacy Statement

Purpose
This privacy statement explains why we are running this survey, what information we are seeking from you, and how we will use and look after that information.

Why we are running this survey?
The survey collects information about community and whānau views of the proposed amendment to the enrolment scheme for Naenae School. We are collecting this information as part of our community consultation so we can ensure it is meeting the needs of ākonga, whānau, schools and the wider community.
Survey responses will be used to inform a report on the community responses to the proposed amendment. This will primarily be for internal Ministry of Education use but may be released more widely. You will not be identified in the report, but your responses may be anonymously quoted.

Information collected in the survey
As an option, we will ask you to identify yourself if you wish to be contacted by the Ministry as part of this survey. However, if any identifiable personal information is provided, it will be treated in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020.
We will ask you some questions about your connections to the school and your views on the proposed amendment. We ask these details to better allow us to analyse the responses we receive.

Sharing of your personal information
Your responses may be shared with School Board as part of analysis work but will be anonymised before being shared.
Responses to this survey may be subject to public release under the Official Information Act. If we receive a request and release your responses as part of this, we will seek to protect your privacy – including not disclosing your identity – to the full extent permitted under law.

How long we will keep your personal information?
After six months the survey will be deleted and your responses will be retained within the Ministry.
